Iphone named “Innovation of the Year”

  The i-phone has been named the “Innovation of the year by Time magazine. This amazing device is so much more than a “Cell Phone”. The i-phone is an multimedia mobile phone that is internet enabled. It is designed and marketed by Apple Inc. One of the most distinctive features of the iphone, is its multi-touch screen complete with virtual buttons, keyboard and functions. It is has an ipod like feature allowing it to also be a portable media player. It also is a camera phone with text messaging, visual voice mail, e-mail, web browsing and Wi-Fi function.

History of the iphone

  The i-phone evolved with Apple engineers working on the development of touch screens. This new technology was the catalyst that inspired Apple CEO, Steve Jobs, to create a whole new type of user friendly, multimedia device. The development of the iphone was done in a partnership with AT&T. Development was said to exceed 150 million dollar mark. The iphone has its own operating system and custom built hardware components. When the iphone when on sale back in June of 2007, the pent-up interest in the iphone caused line ups at supply stores across America. The iPhone is product is protected by over 300 patents.
