  Hosted by Ryan Seacrest, this hit show invites viewers to help find America's next vocal superstar by voting for their favorite contestant. Its winner take all in the battle to see who will win American Idol.

 Thousands of idol wannabes, from all parts of America, audition annually for a chance at becoming the next American Idol. The show is judged by Simon Cowell, Paula Abdul and Randy Jackson. The judges of American Idol narrow down the contestants to a group of semifinalists. Each week these idol contestants perform for the in studio audience and T.V. viewers. They are judged after every performance by Simon, Randy and Paula, but it's the T.V. audience at home who determines who will be voted off. After each show, votes are cast via telephone and text messaging. The results are announced during the following night's show.
